Legged-Locomotion Robotics Competition

We are proud to have hosted a robotics competition as part of the robotics club at the chair. Groups of students were given identical motors and batteries as well as access to various tools and 3D printing capabilities. The goal? Cross the finish-line using a legged robot as fast as possible, while weighing less than 300g. 5 Groups, with a total of 22 students participated, each coming up with their own unique designs. Approaches varied from using lego components, to coding an automatic design optimization.

The winning team consisted of Daniel, Henrik, Jasper and Michael. The main advantage of their design being the ability to run straight towards the goal without swerving off-course.

We look forward to hosting more competitions in the future and are always open to new members. For more details contact tomas.slimak@tum.de.
