Management and Organization

The Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) is led by an interdisciplinary management team that combines scientific excellence with practical industrial experience. The institute's management is responsible for the strategic direction of research, teaching, and technology transfer, ensuring that current developments in production engineering are incorporated into our work.
The organization of the institute is divided into several departments, which are led by experienced scientists. Efficient structures, clear communication channels, and modern project management methods enable smooth collaboration within the team as well as with external partners from industry and research.
Our goal is to develop innovative solutions for the production of tomorrow while ensuring a high-quality education for future engineers.
Full Professor, Chair for Sustainable Production Systems
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christina Reuter:
„As a research institute for production engineering at TUM, we are constantly working to develop innovations for sustainable and people-centered production in the future. In doing so, we focus both on the various levels of a factory—from planning to the production process—and on a wide range of industries and applications in production engineering.”
