During the three-day workshop, a group of schoolgirls from various regions of Bavaria gained hands-on experience with computer-aided design and 3D printing technologies. The girls learned how to design, slice, and print their own puzzle pieces using material extrusion. Through guided exercises, they explored the complete workflow of additive manufacturing: from digital modeling to the physical realization of their designs. A lecture provided insights into current research topics and industrial applications of additive manufacturing. The participants also toured our laboratories. The workshop emphasized learning through experimentation and collaboration, encouraging curiosity and confidence in technical subjects. The event continues the successful collaboration between ExploreTUM and the Professorship of Laser-based Additive Manufacturing, promoting young women in STEM disciplines.
