Motion Capture
To investigate ergonomic stresses, our motion capture laboratory uses two modern systems:
- Vicon for optical, high-resolution 3D motion capture
- XSens as a flexible, IMU-based system for fast and location-independent measurements
This allows us to examine body postures and movement patterns in detail, particularly to assess ergonomic stress. A key focus is the recording of static and quasi-static postures in the laboratory to systematically identify risks to the musculoskeletal system.
Applications range from the ergonomic design of workplaces and product development with a focus on ergonomic tool design to the analysis of workstations in robot-assisted surgery, where precise posture data is crucial for safety and performance.
