Scope
BUENA's project consortium aims at supporting the industrialization of additive manufacturing (AM) across various industry sectors. Several barriers have been identified, such as cost and energy consumption. In order to improve energy- and cost-efficient lightweight design, costs and emissions of several AM components are assessed over their entire life cycle. The project focuses on the widely used laser powder bed fusion and direct energy deposition processes.
Results
A digital twin including a cost and emission model to be included early in the development process.
