SpGM participates in the successful premiere of the "Tech-Werkstatt Leistungssport" in Münster (Germany)

The Tech Workshop Performance Sports recently took place in Münster, Germany, offering sports scientists, industry representatives and sports practitioners the opportunity to exchange ideas about the latest technologies in performance sports. A total of 120 participants from various fields attended the two-day event and exchanged ideas about the latest innovations and possible applications.

The event was organized by the Servicetelle Wissensmanagement WVL, the Innovation Hub Spitzensport, WISS-Netz, DOSB, Bundesinstitut für Sportwissenschaft (BISp) as well as the co-organizers and hosts Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster and Predimo GmbH. Keynote speeches by Nikolai Böhlke, training scientist at the Olympic Training Center Berlin, and Christoph Weber, national coach science/education at the German Disabled Sports Association, provided exciting insights into the latest developments in the field of competitive sports.

The participants had the opportunity to get to know products from research and development in an exhibition tour at more than 20 booths. Innovations from the fields of motion and stress analysis, AI and Big Data, sensor technology and gamification were presented. Afterwards, workshops led by Sebastian Prenger (BISp), Eckehardt Fozzy Moritz (Innovation Hub Spitzensport), Heiko Wagner (University of Münster/Predimo) and Marcus Schmidt (TU Dortmund) developed new ideas for using the technologies.

A panel discussion at the end of the event gave representatives from associations, science, industry and athletics practice the opportunity to take a look at the future of competitive sports. All participants agreed that the Tech Workshop on Competitive Sports was a great success and should definitely be repeated.

Participants such as Christine Leibinger, national science coach at the German Athletics Association, praised the event as an important step towards innovative approaches in competitive sports. Following the event, the Servicetelle Wissensmanagement and the Innovation Hub Spitzensport will take up the participants' suggestions and evaluate the results from the workshops to support future steps. Overall, the Tech-Werkstatt Leistungssport provides an exciting platform for exchanging ideas about the latest developments in competitive sports and demonstrates the potential that the latest technologies have for this field.
