Production Honour for Oliver Zipse
Gift presentation

The topology-optimised hat frame was produced from an aluminium-silicon alloy at utg using the core package process. The use of four 3D-printed sand moulds made it possible to produce this complex geometry using casting technology.
The cord was additively manufactured by selective laser sintering (PBF-LB/P) at the Institute for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (iwb). Alumide, a material consisting of polyamide and aluminium particles, was used to create the honeycomb grid structure.
At the Fraunhofer IGCV, the laser beam melting process was used to produce the TUM logo. This process also allows multi-material processing of different materials. Tool steel 1.2709 was used for the logo.
The entire utg chair and Fraunhofer IGCV offer their sincere congratulations!
