3D Printing Lab for Schoolgirls who came from Regions beyond the Munich Area
Over three days, participants learned how to design their own 3D puzzles using CAD and slicing software, prepared their models for 3D printing, and produced their final colorful objects on-site. Research associates Christina Kwade, and Moritz Wittemer led the workshop, guiding the students through the fundamentals of additive manufacturing and digital design processes with hands-on activities. A lecture in the lecture hall and a guided tour of the TUM.Additive labs by Prof. Katrin Wudy complemented the program. Additive laboratories provide a closer look at current research topics and industrial applications in the field of 3D printing. A social program, including a visit to Munich’s city center, allowed the participants to network and explore the local environment. We warmly thank the team at exploreTUM for their excellent organization and ongoing collaboration.
We are pleased to contribute to promoting young women in STEM and look forward to offering future editions of the 3D Printing Lab.
