TUM Global Visiting Professor 2020

Assoc. Prof. Edward Huang from George Mason University near Washington DC will be guest at the chair from 10.03.20 to 26.03.20 and from 20.04.20 to 02.05.20 as part of the TUM Global Visiting Professor Program.

He works in the field of operation research, system development and simulation optimization.

Edward Huang focuses on enabling, applying, and advancing model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to help transform the state of the engineering design and systems engineering practice. He has architected complex systems including the joint strike fighter production chain, border security system, semiconductor production and scheduling, airport baggage handling system, and pharmaceutical clinic trial distribution network. His research interests include:

  • Model-based Systems Engineering: System Modeling Language (SysML), Model Verification, Control Modeling, and Model Tranformation.
  • Risk Mitigation: Stochastic Programming, Risk Measurement, Risk Mitigation and Resilience-Driven System Design.
  • Facility Planning and Design: Strategic Supply Chain Network Design, Distribution Planning, and Manufacturing Systems Design.
