Demonstrator "Marriage of two Materials

The DFG Transregio Collaborative Research Centre (DFG-SFB TRR 277) is investigating additive manufacturing in construction on a large scale. Leveraging resource-efficiency, automated processes and thus the future of construction. With additive manufacturing it is possible to apply material exactly where it is needed, so that complex shapes can be created without formwork with higher design freedom in a more sustainable way. With the novel near-nozzle-mixing process it is not only possible to print concrete but to change the composition of the material online during printing. The chair fml contributes to the A03 subproject, developing, investigating, and optimizing the a near-nozzle mixing process. The Center for Building Materials is developing new sustainable materials suitable for the use in NNM, also conributing to testing. A new video shows the demonstrator "Marriage of two Materials" from design to function integration as an Answer to the challenge of large scale in Construction.
