Project completion Collaborative Research Center DFG-SFB TRR 277

The initial four-year phase of the Collaborative Research Center DFG-SFB TRR 277 with focus on fundamental research in additive manufacturing for construction (AMC) has been completed with remarkable success. Our team, specializing in mechanical- and process engineering, played a vital role in Sub-Project A03: "Extrusion of Near-Nozzle Mixed Concrete - Tailored for Density and 3D Fibre Reinforcement Rate," evolving from a conceptual stage to a fully operational prototype. In collaboration with the TUM Centre for Building Materials, we have developed this innovative extrusion system over the years. The Prototype (GRES = Gradation Ready Extrusion System), enables the printing of a variety of materials with challenging workability, allowing for material grading during the printing process. This breakthrough represents a significant leap forward for additive manufacturing in construction.

We eagerly anticipate the next four-year funding period, during which we plan to refine our processes, machinery, and materials to meet the evolving demands of the construction industry. Stay tuned for further updates.
