Research and Innovation

Better, more efficient, more advanced technology for people. That has been the goal of researchers in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Munich for more than 150 years.

Carl von Linde invented the forerunner of the refrigerator here. Our graduate Rudolf Diesel developed the diesel engine with fascination. Two of the many discoveries with which we have changed the world for people. We will continue to research more environmentally friendly technology in the future. In production and logistics, we will drive the fourth industrial revolution. Creating more individualized solutions for patients with additive manufacturing in medical technology.
