Rotor Test Rigs
Experimental rotor test rigs are used at the Chair of Applied Mechanics to test the dynamic behaviour of rotor systems. Experimental results validate simulation models for single components and for the complete rotor system.
An example for the rotor test rigs is the magnetic bearing test rig. It consists of a flexible shaft with a mass disc. The rotor is levitated in active magnetic bearings. E.g. the application of experimental modal analysis using active magnetic bearings as exciters can be tested.
AMrotor - Rotor Simulation Code
A toolbox for the simulation of rotor systems is developed at the chair: AMrotor.
You can find more information about it on github or on AM Softwarepakete.
