News from research and industry: "Stamping Technology Congress" 2023

The latest trends in stamping technology and networking within the industry were the focus of the 13th Stamping Technology Congress in Dortmund, organised by KIST e.V. and the utg. On 17th and 18th of April, representatives from industry and research met for lectures, discussions and exchanges on current topics in stamping technology. Two outstanding contributions provided particular impetus.

The focus of the lectures:

  • New Work                     -   new working worlds
  • Electromobility               -  manufacturing new components for the automotive industry
  • Smart Tooling                -  tools of the next generation
  • Networked processes   -  planning, simulation and monitoring panelists

Innovations, application examples and scientific findings were presented in 13 specialist lectures. Special impulses were provided by the presentations of Thomas Kamphausen, HR Director Schuler Group GmbH, with "New Work and Employer Attractiveness - Motivation in Every Phase of Life" and Andreas Herthum, Head of MAN Academy MAN Truck & Bus SE, on "Megatrends in Human Resources - What are the Success Factors of Transformation at MAN Truck & Bus?

The panel discussion "New Work  - New Working Worlds"

The presentations by Mr Kamphausen and Mr Herthum set the mood for the panel discussion with inspiring aspects under the motto "New Work - New Working Worlds". The focal points of the discussion among representatives of industry and associations included:

  • recruiting employees in times of a shortage of skilled workers
  • future-oriented working models and
  • employee motivation in every phase of life

The trade exhibition: exchange at all levels

Parallel to the lecture programme, the annual trade exhibition provided an opportunity for professional and personal exchange with the exhibiting companies.

As in the previous year, the evening was rounded off with intensive discussions and great food in the stadium of the Bundesliga team Borussia Dortmund.

We can look back on a great congress with about 250 participants and are grateful for the positive feedback.

Outlook

Preparations will soon begin for the 14th Stanztechnik Congress in 2024, and we are already looking forward to it!
