Curriculum Vitae

Dario Arcuti received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Munich with a strong focus on medical engineering and material sciences.

During his studies, he spent a semester at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where he took courses in the field of biomedical engineering and imaging. In 2019, Dario joined the Cardiovascular Research Unit at the University of Cape Town for a scientific internship at Strait Access Technologies and gained a deeper insight into the principles of medical device development for cardiovascular applications.

He accomplished his theses in the area of medical engineering at the Chair of Medical Materials and Implants at TUM. For his bachelor’s and term thesis, he processed different polymeric materials for medical applications. During his masters’ thesis, he developed a small percutaneous vascular implant, on the basis of electrospinning. The work contributed to the emergence of a sustainable base for a new research project and future studies.

Since November 2020, Dario Arcuti is working at the Chair of Medical Materials and Implants as an academic assistant to continue his research project.

R&D Topics
