Approval of a new (ZIM) research project

Due to the "Central Innovation Program for SMEs" of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy a two-and-a-half-year research project (duration: 01.09.2017 - 31.01.2020) was approved for the Professorship of Sport Equipment and Sport Materials. In cooperation with BUSCH GmbH & Co. KG a ballistic, microclimatically optimized helmet with suitability for VPAM APR test line 6 is to be developed. The aim of the Professorship for Sport Equipment and Sport Materials is, among others, to analyze the thermal properties as well as wearing comfort of conventional ballistic helmets and its optimization. Based on this, a cooling system as well as a non-invasive real-time monitoring of the core body temperature and its regulation is to be developed and integrated into the helmet.

Competent PhD-Candiadte for that project is Mrs. Stefanie Passler, M.Sc.
