Biography
Annika Ulherr studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich, majoring in ergonomics and systematic product development. In her term papers, she dealt on the one hand with the sitting comfort in wheelchairs and on the other hand with optimizing the wearing comfort of an eye tracking system. As her diploma thesis she focused once again on wheelchairs, identified comfort relevant factors and developed an improved prototype.
At the beginning of 2013, she spent some time at TUM CREATE in Singapore, where she supported the seat development ergonomically. Since April 2013 she has been working as a research associate at the Chair of Ergonomics. In addition to teaching, she is mainly involved in projects in the field of seating comfort. The main focus was on the project "UDASim" (comprehensive Discomfort Assessment for vehicle occupants through simulation), which was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and carried out from 2013 to 2016. Between 2013 and 2015, she was responsible for the relocation and installation of the Modular Ergonomic Mockup, which was donated to the chair by Daimler AG. Since 2013, she has been working as a representative of science and research in the Standards Committee NA 042-05-19 AA "Requirements for Office Furniture", which is, among other things, responsible for DIN 1335.
