Functional application design
for
distributed automation systems

The wish to operate automation systems optimized as a whole, leads to increasing information coupling in formerly compound control systems. This results in distributed control systems due to the spatial expansion of those systems. In this research project a methodology will be developed and evaluated to describe the system elements "component", "structure" and "communication" by attributes. These attributes have to be matched with requirements to be able to pursue their fulfillment. In order to support reuse, automation solutions in the form of draft  patterns are presented to consider these characteristics and use the developed advanced descriptions.
