After a long break, the traditional "Barbara celebration" took place on 1.12.2022 with 100 guests from industry and science. In addition to Gießereitechnik München, with utg and Fraunhofer IGCV, the VDG Bavarian Association participated in the organization. This year, the company outing of the representatives of Fraunhofer IGCV and the utg chair went to northern Italy. As part of this, the scientific staff were guests of two companies from the foundry sector. They reported on extremely interesting encounters and a "fruitful" scientific exchange.

Around 40,000 trade visitors came to the 26th International Technology Fair for Sheet Metal Working in Hannover from 24 to 28 October 2022 to find out about the current status and news in their industry. As coordinator of the SPP2013, utg's representatives presented the ongoing projects on the topic " Opportunities of residual stresses in forming technology".

"Targeted use of forming-induced residual stresses in metallic components". is the title of the priority program SPP2013.

EuroBLECH 2022

We are also at the start, at the 26th International Technology Fair for Sheet Metal Working, the EuroBLECH. Under the motto "Innovations as the key to tomorrow's sheet metal working", we will present the 12 projects of SPP2013 at the EFB joint booth.

On 8 and 9 August 2022, we were once again guests at the House of Bavarian Agriculture. As every year, utg staff met for a two-day seminar to discuss strategic and scientific topics.

Established years ago, as a meeting place for the exchange of information between scientists from research assistants to professors, industry representatives and alumni, the popular get-together finally took place again at the utg on 21 July 2022 after a long forced break.

In 2022, we were able to really clean up in the doctoral prizes. Three dissertations were awarded prestigious prizes. All three are endowed with € 5,000. On 1 July, the first Day of Engineering and Design #DayEDTUM (formerly Faculty Day), the three prize winners were presented with their awards in a ceremony.

We are very happy to have been at this year's LOIFT in the Mechanical Engineering Building! After a break of three years, it was very nice to get in touch with many students again.
