Just returned from an inspiring few days at the HFES Europe Chapter 2025 Conference in the beautiful city of Bologna 🇮🇹 – home to the oldest university in the world! A big thank you to Marco De Angelis and the University of Bologna’s Department of Psychology for the warm and well-organized welcome.
Our contribution: the talk by Maximilian Hübner on "Exploring the Effects of Gamified Distraction on Pedestrian Road-Crossing Behaviour in Front of Automated Vehicles" – a study that looks at how playful elements like coins and time pressure influence safety and efficiency in AV-pedestrian interactions.
Grateful for the insightful feedback, new connections, and the opportunity to present our work to such a thoughtful and interdisciplinary community.
Looking forward to the next one – and already missing the gelato, porticoes, and academic energy of Bologna! 🍦📚🇮🇹
