Title of the Dissertation:
The influence of alpine soft boots on the movement pattern of the freestyle skier and the forces between ski and binding
Abstract:
In the context of an experiment (n=21) the influence of a reduced shaft stiffness of alpine ski boots on the kinematics and ground reaction forces when skiing over bumps was investigated and interpreted in view of its significance for the body joint positions, biomechanics, skiing safety and the technique of mogul skiing. To do this a soft and flexible boot was compared with a conventional hard boot. Video analysis and a force measurement ski binding were used to investigate the movement parameters.
