One Paper – Two Awards 🏆🏆
In September, Dominik Janetzko presented the paper "Feel the Speed: Supporting Novice eVTOL Pilots in Simplified Vehicle Operations with Haptic Cues" at the Digital Avionics Systems Conference (DASC) 2025 in Montreal, Canada.
The work was developed together with his co-authors Hany Abdelfattah, Jan Baier, Daniel Dollinger, and Michael Zintl, and introduces a novel force-feedback concept designed to support novice pilots of electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The approach uses haptic cues to support the pilots during a range of flight maneuvers.
🎉 The paper and its presentation received two awards:
- 3rd Place in the Student Research Competition
- Best of Session Award in session Human Factors – eVTOL and Advanced Air Mobility
Congratulations to Dominik Janetzko on the successful presentation and to the entire author team for their outstanding contribution to advancing human-centered flight control systems!
