As part of the ZIM project IndiSports, a highly individualized additively manufactured midsole is to be developed for the realization of a cushioning-optimized running shoe. On the one hand, new materials and 3D printing processes have to be developed for this. On the other hand, the complete runner including running shoe and different surfaces will be digitally modeled. The central element of the research project is a coupled finite element / multi-body simulation. A similar approach is being used in other SpGM projects, such as the ZIM project SuPer Hybrid Turf and the IBack project.
