IEEE RAS Automation Cluster TCs' Video Challenge on Automation
Win $1000 and tickets for a RAS Event
Participate in the video challenge hosted by the Automation Cluster of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) and win $1000 per team and tickets for a RAS-event. For that, prepare a 3 minute long video, in which you adress one of the categories below:
- “The benefits and Challenges of an Automated Society”
Your video should comprise visions for the future and current challenges. Include positive impacts as well as potential drawbacks of automation. Your video should tackle the following questions:- What should automation achieve?
- What benefit is gained and what challenges are addressed?
- How will automation transform the job market and what skills will be essential?
- “Ethical Considerations of Automation"
Explore the responsibilities and moral considerations in deploying automated systems.
Evaluation process
Evaluation will be conducted by selected TC Chairs/Co-Chairs
If there are more than 25 applications per category, a pre-selection may be required
Note: We will strive for balance in terms of regions and gender throughout the selection process
Submission Procedure
The IEEE RAS Automation Cluster Competition uses YouTube to streamline video submissions and facilitate jury evaluations. To enter the competition with your own project, please follow the steps outlined below. Deadline for submission is October, 22nd 2025. The election of the winning team in each category will be determined in Mid-November. We are looking forward to your participations and inspiring videos.
Prerequisites
- A Google/YouTube-Account
Procedure
- While logged into https://youtube.com, click on “Your videos” in the left-hand menu.
- You will be redirected to https://studio.youtube.com. Click the “Create” button in the top right corner, then select “Upload videos.”
- A dialog window will appear. Choose your video file and adjust the settings as needed.
- In the “Visibility” tab, set your video to Unlisted. This setting ensures that only individuals with the link can see your submission.
- Once the upload is complete, a confirmation dialog with the video link will appear.
- Copy the link and provide it here after agreeing to the Terms of Condition.
- Ensure that at least one team member is a RAS member and one is a student
- Note that TC-Chairs and Co-Chairs are not permitted to submit, except in the case of student members
